Closed ended questions have a single answer that must be recalled from memory. Some of the most common types of verbs used in the question will be: list, define, tell, describe, identify, show, label, tabulate, quote, name. These verbs tell you that the questions are appropriate to assist students to remember content as well as being useful for exams that test remembering. Questions of this type can be used in short quizzes with clickers or in PowerPoint Games.
